Our geology sign is a brief summary of an article written by local scientist Dr. Gary A. Ritchie. Dr. Ritchie holds a Ph.D. in forest biology from the University of Washington, and has been a plant scientist, author, and lecturer on plant physiology and ecology for 45 years. Fun fact, Gary was also the steward of the rose garden at the Schmidt House for many years.
