History Talks at Schmidt House presents: “The State Capitol Dome History”

On Thursday, January 10 at noon, History Talks at the Schmidt House presents, “The State Capitol Dome History.” Our presenter is Susan Mayer, Ph.D.

Dr. Susan Mayer will speak at the Olympia Tumwater Foundation’s History Talks at the Schmidt House on January 10, 2019

Dr. Mayer will highlight the origin, evolution and dominant features of the Legislative Building and the State Capitol Dome. Her presentation will cover the dome’s symbolic meaning and structure, early history models, and the U.S. Capitol and other state capitols.

Dr. Mayer is an independent art historian who regularly speaks to the public, leads many tours as a volunteer, and teaches at the college level. She received her Ph.D. from New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts.
