Join us for this year's Summer at the Schmidt event series!

We’re excited to announce a new event series in partnership with City of Tumwater Arts, Summer at the Schmidt! Join us at Tumwater’s Schmidt House July 18th for the Speakeasy Garden Party, and August 8th for the Midsummer Night’s Dream experience.

Both events will begin at 6pm and end at 9:30pm. Limited tickets are available! Purchase yours today! Each Summer at the Schmidt event will feature themed entertainment, food, and drinks.

About the Events

Speakeasy Garden Party – Thursday, July 18th 6pm-9:30pm

Experience the roaring 20’s on the grounds of the Schmidt House! Play croquet on the expansive lawn in your best dress, discover a hidden Speakeasy inside the Schmidt House where hand-crafted drinks are made, enjoy live music from our 1920s jazz ensemble, silent and short films from Oly Film Collective, and other activities that bring back the Prohibition era. Proceeds will fund a music scholarship for Tumwater students through the Olympia Tumwater Foundation scholarship program. The Summer at the Schmidt Event series is in partnership with City of Tumwater Arts.

Thank you to all who attended the Speakeasy Garden Party! We had a roaring great time with you all and hope to see you at the August 8^th event! We raised nearly $1,000 for the Summer at the Schmidt Tumwater Music Grant Fund. These funds will be administered this fall through our Early Learning Grant Committee, and will be available to all music educators in the Tumwater School District. An application will be available in the coming months alongside our Early Learning Grant application. Funds may be used for purchasing materials needed to enhance music programs and classes. This may include instruments, music books, etc. This fund is still open to donations! Please consider donating today.

Midsummer Night’s Dream – Thursday, August 8th 6pm-9:30pm

Walk into a whimsical faire with a fire performer, live music from the reknowned jazz band Pearl Django, and fun activities! Lawn games such as croquet, badminton, corn hole, and giant dice will be ready to entertain. Enjoy themed faire-inspired food and drink while you stroll through the grounds and rose garden. Perhaps a live performance from Procession of the Species will surprise guests at some point in the evening… Ticket proceeds will benefit the Procession of the Species organization, and direct donations to the organization will be available at the event.
