Welcome Our Newest Team Member: Erica Stock Williams

Please join us in welcoming Erica Stock Williams to the Olympia Tumwater Foundation! Erica brings 20+ years of nonprofit fundraising and leadership experience to her role as Development Director. She will focus her initial efforts on launching a capital campaign to build a History and Nature Center, replacing our current Welcome Center and offices at Brewery Park overlooking Tumwater Falls.

Erica has advised established and emerging philanthropists interested in creating charitable funds or designating gifts that align with their unique interests, capacities, and long term goals. She is known for her creativity and outside-the-box thinking and is driven by the possibility of locally-led change and the belief that nothing is impossible.

In addition to a deep passion for rivers and wildlands, Erica has organized grassroots conservation campaigns for organizations; advanced climate and energy policy at the local and national levels in Oregon, Colorado and Minnesota; and worked to ensure all young people have access to safe, welcoming recreation experiences outdoors. She is invested in co-creating transformative experiences that reconnect people to one another and the land, especially families and youth.

Born and raised in Michigan, Erica spent her childhood swimming and sailing, while taking time to comb the Great Lakes shorelines for Petoskey stones. She holds degrees in Social Psychology (with a focus on quantitative and qualitative research) and Biology from Mount Holyoke College with additional post-graduate training in Philanthropic Studies and Salmon Ecology. In her free time – you’ll find her rafting, fishing, or canoeing across the wild and scenic PNW, Costa Rica’s Golfo Dulce, or in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with her family and dogs.
